2020 Census

we count - blainemn - census 2020

Counting everyone once, only once, and in the right place.

Every 10 years a census is taken that counts every person living in the United States. The population totals from the census determine many important things including congressional representation and federal spending allocations. Minnesota is at risk of losing a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives which means getting a complete count is very important to keep all eight seats Minnesota currently holds.

Residents can expect to receive census information by mail in March 2020. Census Day events will take place on April 1, 2020. Census workers will conduct follow up visits with non-respondents during summer 2020.

The final census numbers are expected to be public in March 2021.
