The residential component of the North Meadows development includes 128 attached townhome units, 77 villas units, and 50 twinhome units. The townhome units will be accessed through Austin Street which is currently stubbed from the entrance to Sanctuary Preserve and will continue through the new development to 109th Avenue. The villas and twinhomes will be separately accessed off of 109th Avenue.
A concept is currently shown for lots on the east side of Austin Street. The area is guided in the city's comprehensive plan guides this area for planned commercial or planned industrial uses. All uses will require a conditional use permit, which will involve a public hearing and approval by the city council. The property owner submitted a concept plan showing an apartment use on one of the parcels. This use would require an amendment to the comprehensive plan, which requires a public hearing, city council approval, and approval by the Metropolitan Council
