Nickel, Bingo Last Monday each month, 1PM (generally)
Play each card for five cents each. Winners split the pot of money collected. Coverall begins at 2PM. Volunteer callers are welcome, ask staff if you are interested.
Penny Bingo, Mondays, 1PM
Except when specialty bingo" or nickel bingo is on the schedule. Participants put one penny per card per round into the collection cup. A variety of bingo games are played such as X, birthday cake, small picture frame, L, and many others. Regular bingo and four corners are also played. After approximately one hour of play, coverall begins and the ante is raised per card with the winner(s) getting the total collected in the cup.
Weekly Cribbage, Fridays, 1 - 3PM
Play six games. $1.25 per person for payback prizes and refreshments. No partner needed. Players rotate partners each game.
Four times per year (January, March, June and October), a cribbage tournament is held. Players must have a partner and register one week in advance of the tournament date. Tournament cost is $2 per player. Payback prizes are awarded and special refreshments available throughout the event.
Cribbage League, Saturdays, 12:30PM
September, October, January, February, March, and April
Led by volunteers. Players must register in advance and have a partner to participate. Fees are associated. Call the senior center for contact information.
Wednesdays, 1 - 4PM
The American version is played using tiles and rule/pattern sheets. All levels welcome to join and/or learn this game.
No advanced registration necessary unless it is a scheduled tournament. Each player puts $1 in the collection and it is used for refreshments, coffee supplies and cash pay backs. Players draw a table number to begin the game. Four hands are played with a scorekeeper from each team recording the points. Bids of 7, 8, or 9 with the bidder making all 10 tricks gets an extra 100 points added to their score. This is called a sweep.
If a bid is not made, bidding team takes a set and 100 points are added to the opponents score as well as 10 points for each trick taken. After four hands of play, teammates draw for high or low card and match it with the high or low draw when they begin the next round. Winners move progressively toward the head table, (from table 8 to table 7 to table 6, etc.) all the way to table one. Once you reach the head table, winners stay and change partners each round, while the losers travel to the last table. Prior to the start of each game, all players shall draw for deal and the high card wins the deal.
Fridays, 1 - 3:30PM
A fun, challenging word game. All levels welcome. Dictionaries are provided and several boards are available for larger crowds.
