Review and Prepare

Please review the following information before completing the online application.

  • Applicants are responsible for all water consumed at a rate of $5 for each 1,000 gallons or minimum of $25; plus a $25 Hydrant Use Permit.
  • Applicants are responsible for any damage to the meter or hydrant as stated in Sec. 86-5 of the Blaine Code of Ordinances - Use of Water from Hydrants.
  • Hydrant meters must be returned or the permit must be renewed by November 1 each year.
  • The current meter deposit will carry over, but the applicant is responsible for any deposit increases.
  • Failure to renew or return the meter by November 1 will result in loss of deposit.
  • Please provide 48 hours notice before picking up the meter at Public Works between the hours of 7AM and 3PM.  
  • Hydrant wrenches are available free of charge. Wrenches not returned will incur a $45 fee taken out of the hydrant deposit.

  • Hydrant Permit Fees
    • Garden Hose Connection Meter Deposit - $400
    • Fire Hose Connection Meter Deposit - $4,500
    • Hydrant Use Fee - $25
