Damage Repair

Damage repair permits due to fire, water, or natural causes are required by the City of Blaine. For storm damaged roofing and siding replacement, please choose the Roofing and Siding information. Plumbing and Mechanical/HVAC work require a separate permits.

Review and Prepare

Please review the information packets pertaining to your construction project below under the Documents section.

The following documents need to be available for upload during the online application process. Please note, all documents need to be in a PDF format.

  • Set of Plans
    Plans must include:
    • Footing and foundation details including:
      • Material
      • Size
      • Depth
      • Foundation drainage method
      • Radon (if applicable)
      • Insulation details
    • Plan view and cross sections of addition
    • Crawl space details (if applicable)
    • Window details including:
      • Manufacturer
      • U-factors
      • Installation specifications
    • Water proofing and insulation details
    • Roofing information
    • Any other information that will be useful for plan review.

Note, if plans and details are not complete or information is missing, the time to process your permit will be extended.

General Information

  • With proper permits, it is permissible for the owner/occupant to complete most projects. However, if you hire a contractor or sub-contractor, they are required to apply for any required permits. List them on the sub-contractor portion of the application.
