The Spring Lake Park - Blaine - Mounds View (SBM) Fire Department is a nonprofit corporation managed by a Fire Board consisting of firefighters and community representatives. Blaine representatives must either live or work full time in Blaine. The board works closely with the fire chief offering final approving authority for most administrative and financial items for the corporation.
The board meets six times per year to review policies, financial documents, and the overall administration of the SBM Fire Department. The fire chief reports directly to the board. Board meetings are held Tuesday evenings with one daytime meeting mid-summer.
