Special Board of Review

The Blaine Special Board of Review is a process established by the Minnesota Legislature to provide a fair and objective forum for property owners to appeal their property valuation or classification.

The Board of Review is comprised of a group of qualified realtors and appraisers appointed by the Blaine City Council annually and in many cases serves as a first step in the appeals process for taxpayers. The Board of Review, while required to meet in April each year, was not active in 2020 and will not convene until 2022 as the city works to meet training requirements outlined in state statute. Until that time Anoka County will hold annual meetings for property owners to appeal their valuation or classification.
