Notice of Public Hearing Before the Blaine Planning Commission, Case: 20-0027

Public Hearing-300

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Planning Commission of the City of Blaine, Minnesota, will hold a public hearing on the following application:

CASE: 20-0027

APPLICANT: A & C Automotive

LOCATION: 611 109th Avenue NE (see map)

Legal description on file at city hall

PETITION: The applicant is requesting a variance to allow for a freestanding sign that does not currently meet the monument style as required by the section 34.00 of the zoning ordinance. The applicant is also requesting a 7-foot variance to the maximum 14-foot height requirement for monument signs. The variance, if granted would allow the sign to be 21 feet tall and would allow the sign to remain as is without meeting the monument style requirements as outlined in the zoning ordinance.

The requested variance was considered by the Planning Commission in 2018. The applicant withdrew the application and was given a two year time period to bring the sign into compliance with the zoning code. The applicant has not modified the sign as required and is applying for the same variance to keep the existing sign.

HEARING DATE AND TIME: Said hearing will take at Blaine City Hall Council Chambers, located at 10801 Town Square Drive, Blaine, Minnesota, 55449 on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 7PM.

All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard. If you cannot attend, public comments that are emailed to by 4:30PM on Tuesday, August 11, will be shared with the planning commission at this meeting. Unsigned or anonymous comments will not be included in the public record.
