Blaine Citizens Academy is designed to introduce residents and people who work in Blaine to the daily operations of the City of Blaine Safety Services Department. 

The fast-paced academy provides both classroom and hands-on training, offering a fun and safe behind-the-scenes look while allowing participants an opportunity to perform tasks otherwise reserved for police officers and firefighters. 

Safety services professionals will conduct and oversee simulations like felony traffic stops, motor vehicle extrication, and firefighter training exercises to show participants first-hand the pressure, hard work, and satisfaction associated with working in public safety. Blaine Citizens Academy is held on Wednesday evenings from September 6 - November 1.
