Wetlands: DID YOU KNOW?
You can take an outdoor class at the Blaine Wetland Sanctuary? These classes are for ALL AGES and a great opportunity for families to learn together and explore nature.
What’s underground (and under the boardwalk) will surprise you! Come and meet our new neighbor, the Blaine Wetland Sanctuary. Together we will explore how water, land, air, and living things interact with each other in this special place. Throughout the nature hike participants will dazzle the senses with belly biology, systems bingo, and BWS nature trivia. $5 per person; $10 per family

With its unique ecosystem the Blaine Wetland Sanctuary is home to a variety of birds. Under the guidance of an experienced birder, you will spot many types of birds and learn all about them. Binoculars available to use. Hurry - only 4 spaces remain! $5 per person; $10 per family

The fen at Blaine Wetland Sanctuary is a water superhero! Hike the boardwalk with us to learn the story: How does the fen battle the water pollutant villains? Which plants are signs of health in the system? Where is there evidence of change at the fen? Together we will explore examples of how water, air, land, and living things are interconnected at the site. Activities for all ages include: connecting maps with core sampling, use-your-senses bingo, and an engineering design challenge.

Get an up close and personal look at plants that make up a wetland and discover the importance these plants and wetlands serve. We will walk the boardwalk and trails.

Join a naturalist from Wargo Nature Center on an insect hunt at the Blaine Wetland Sanctuary. We are going to catch, identify, and observe insects of the wetland.

Discover why wetlands are such important and unique ecosystems. This guided tour of the Blaine Wetland Sanctuary will be led by a naturalist from Wargo Nature Center.
