1. How to obtain a copy of a police/accident report?

Request can be made by completing a Data Request Form and returning it to the Blaine Police Department.

2. How do I report a crime?

In Anoka County, the Central Communications Center encourages residents to use 911 to report crimes. The dispatcher will ask you if you have an emergency and will prioritize the call accordingly.

4. What are the hours of the Blaine Police Department?

The Administrative Offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:30AM - 4:30PM.

5. I was in a motor vehicle crash. Do I need to contact the police?

If you have been in an accident and need police assistance, dial 911

Police do not need to be contacted for minor property damage accidents, less than $1000 damage. The State of Minnesota law requires drivers involved in a motor vehicle accident must exchange information, including insurance information.

6. How can I get a background check done on myself?

Blaine Police can do a local record check of Blaine police records only. Full criminal background checks are completed by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).

7. I would like to report a non-violent crime with no suspects or witnesses.

In Anoka County, the Central Communications Center encourages residents to use 911 to report crimes. The dispatcher will ask you if you have an emergency and will prioritize the call accordingly. If you have been a victim of Identity Theft you should contact your creditors and financial institutions as soon as possible. You should also contact the Blaine Police Department at 763-427-1212.

The process to request a restraining order or order for protection takes place through the Anoka County Courthouse.

10. How do I obtain a permit to purchase or carry a firearm?

Residents of Anoka County can apply for a permit to carry at the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, who can be reached by phone at 763-323-5005.

11. I lost something or have confiscated property and want to know if it was turned in to the police department. Who do I contact?

Property and evidence are stored at the Blaine Police Department. Questions regarding lost, found, recovered and releasable property may be directed to the Property/Evidence Technician at 763-785-6130.

Any person in need of assistance unlocking their vehicle should call the non-emergency number, 763-427-1212. This service can also be obtained through 911.

16. Can I get my child seat inspected to make sure it was installed properly?

Child car seat inspections are done by the SBM Fire Department and are free for Blaine residents.

20. What should I do if a peddler comes to the door?

Throughout the year, door-to-door peddling, soliciting and canvassing raises questions from Blaine residents. While most of these activities are regulated by the City, they cannot be prohibited entirely.
